The Open Comments: 4

It's that time of term again: I'm marking midterms. So I'm going to open this post up to your comments. Can you hear me okay in class? I SAID, CAN YOU HEAR ME OKAY IN CLASS!?

What about those double screens in the classrooms? Are they driving you crazy? (Do you try to concentrate on one, but then keep sneaking a look at the other one, just to see if you missed something?)

Why aren't you studying?

@Anonymous: Sorry to hear about the Virtual Labs. The good news is that there are no labs in my summer courses. =)

@sad panda: Really? Are you sure? I haven't finished marking them yet. I'm only at the "M"s...

Hi, my friend wants to take PSYCO267 in the year 2012-2013. Are you still using Sensation and Perception Eighth Edition (2010)? I hope you do so. I am highly recommend you to her! Hahax

@Anonymous: Most likely I'll be using Goldstein's 8e; it's not due to come out in a new edition this year. I don't know if I'll be using the Virtual Labs or not, though. I may go with CogLabs instead.

I hate the double screens! I'm never sure which screen would be more optimal to look at so I end up trying to look at both and it confuses me.

Conclusion: For PSYCO267, I prefer only your lecture notes, the textbook somehow made me confusing... =(

@Anonymous: I know there are some topics that are not as clear as they could be. There are a number of really good perception textbooks out there now. I'm going to evaluate them over the summer. Thanks for the feedback.

Studied really hard for the psych 104 exam, not sure why it didn't go well.. I felt I had a good grasp of the concepts and then the exam just went downhill for some reason. Maybe I just can't memorize facts as well as I thought. Hopefully midterm #2 goes better..

1. Dr. Loepelmann rocks!
2. Could you please, pretty please with a cherry on top... Turn up the volume of your microphone during your 104psy class? Unfortunately for me, I still can't hear you even if I sit in the front row because there is ALWAYS someone talking. I would slap them to teach them a lesson....but society doesn't allow me to.
3. Also, even though there was a lot of material to cover for this midterm, I found that you posted a lot of the questions from the publisher's website. So yay for free points! Your study method also helped me a lot.
4. And last but not least, I'm really scared for psychophysics, but I have hope that you'll do your best to make it super interesting (it's your field, after all). In a perfect world I would be good in math, but alas, nature gave me the gift of concentrating on the field of languages instead. So please make it interesting!

Thank you and may e force be with you!
